DHRUNI TREK
OVERVIEW
Sissu is the first major settlement of the Lahaul Valley and the opening station of the 9.2 km long Atal tunnel which is the highest highway single-tube tunnel above 3048 meter in the world & is built under the Rohtang pass in the Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas connecting Kullu and Lahaul valley. Surrounded by serene landscapes, Sissu is home to some of the best camping sites in the region. On the western side of the main highway lies the beautiful Sissu Falls which is fed by the glaciers in the adjoining Himalayan Mountains. The trek goes through some of the most beautiful mountains along the Bhaga River and past some of the quaint villages that line the Lahaul valley.

DRIVE FROM MANALI TO SHOOLING BASE CAMP.
We arrive at the base camp at Shooling, relax, unwind & have lunch after which We take you for a short hike to acclimatize for the trek. Dinner will be followed by star gazing under the sky if the weather permits. Later we gather around the campfire for the next day’s debrief.
DRIVE TO SISSU & TREK FROM PLUM DHARA TO BAKAR BANN
After an early breakfast, we drive down to Sissu from where we start our trek from the beautiful Plum Dhara waterfall to Bakar Bann opposite Shooling across the Chandra River. This is going to be a steep climb but the efforts are worth the view that we get from our camping ground.
TREK FROM BAKAR BANN TO DHRUNI.
Today will be a relatively easy hike day and we traverse along the contour till Dhruni. We get spectacular views of Ghepan peak and the surrounding mountains of the Pir Panjal range and get to interact with shepherds who bring up sheep from the neighbouring villages to the meadows on this mountain for grazing.
TREK FROM DHRUNI TO YANGLA TOP.
We trek to Yangla top that presents a view of spectacular mountain peaks and glaciers and spot the famous Gondhla fort during the hike. We get a chance to visit Gondhla on our way back to the base camp or on some other day. Towards the end of the day we relax with the magnificent view of Koro top.
TREK FROM YANGLA TOP TO MULING AND RETURN VIA TANDI TO SHOOLING BASE CAMP
On the last day, we descend and trek past the forest at Yangla ending the trek at Muling with a serene view of the U-shaped glacial valley & Bhaga River. We drive back to base camp and marvel at the milky way at night sharing our experiences and stories around the campfire under a million stars.
DRIVE BACK TO MANALI
After an early morning breakfast, we pack our bags and depart for Manali for our journey back home with wonderful memories made with Adventureism.
