OVERVIEW

The trek route goes through Jagatsukh, the old capital of Kullu. The route winds through lush forests and meadows and crosses streams hurtling down the mountains. The clean, cool and crisp air of the mountain fills your lungs and rejuvenates your soul. The views all along are tranquil and peaceful and bound to be in your memories for a very long time and hard to forget.

ARRIVAL IN CAMP AT KALATH (NEAR MANALI)

Arrival at the base camp. Relax, unwind and have breakfast after which we plan and prepare for the trek and go for a short hike to acclimatize. Dinner is followed by star gazing under the sky if weather permits, and later we gather around the campfire for the next days debrief.

TREK FROM BASE CAMP TO TILGAN JAGATSUKH

After an early breakfast, we will start our trek towards Jagatsukh, one of the biggest villages in the Kullu Valley. It’s a steep walk through the village until we reach the beautiful wooden Takshak Nag temple in the forest that is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It’s a gradual trek thereafter. The trail soon opens up into a beautiful clearing which is our campsite for the night.

We start our trek from Tilgan to Sartou which is of moderate intensity. We cross a river and hike through pine forest. The last stretch of the trek is steep. We will pass a temporary settlement of farmers, who stay here during the summer period with their farm animals. We pitch our tent in a beautiful meadow that oversees the shepherd’s abode.

After breakfast and a session of meditation, we start our trek from Sartou to Chikka. The challenge level today will be moderate and we cross a few streams as we head to Chikka. We camp near a stream for the night. 

TREK FROM CHIKKA TO MANALI

Today we head out towards the village of Vashisth which has a beautiful temple and hot springs. The trek today climbs for a short while and then goes down all the way to Vashisth where we could get some time to relax and the possibility of a hot bath.

VISIT TO MALL ROAD IN MANALI AND DEPARTURE TO DELHI

There will be an option of either doing a stream walk after breakfast or you could visit Hidimba Temple, Manu Temple, or shopping in Old Manali Market or Mall Road. Return to camp by 1600 hrs to wrap upland then board Volvo at around 1630-1645 hrs to return to Delhi.

  • Travel and medical insurance.
  • Unforeseen expenses that demand a change in itinerary like natural forces, changes in weather, road blockages, and flight/train cancellations.
  • Medical, Travel, or Evacuation expenses.
  • Any expense of personal nature like tips, laundry, phone calls, beverages, etc.
